Five cases of Behect¢¥s disease

Abstract
In this paper, the three patients of-men -and two patients of women were reported. Behcet¢¥s syndrome is characterized by relapsing iritis and recurrent ulceration in the mouth and in the genitalia.
Less common findings include thrombophlebitis, various type of rashes, arthralgia, colitis and ocular disorders such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, and hemorrhage into the retina or the vitreous.
A diagnosis of Behcet¢¥s disease can be established upon the occurence of two of the three major symptoms.
Prognostically the most serious one is the involvement of the central nervous system. All of the patients manifested typical clinical features and the positive reaction of the intradermal saline test.
The first case was treated by systemic corticosteroids and shown the prompt. effect. Others were also given the corticosteroids by the intermittent regimen with much improvement.
Accordingly, the use of systemic corticosteroids may have helped to arrest the progress of¢¥ this disease.
